2012-01-21 14:06 by Kate
How's 2012 been for everyone so far? Off to a flying start we hope. It's starting to get super busy here at Gotye HQ.
This transmission is for our friends in North America as we have some exciting news about Gotye's impending US/Canadian tour. We have a new date to announce, which will see Wally and band visit Ann Arbor, MI on April 2 (show details below).
We also have news about a couple of venue upgrades, which means there are now additional tickets on sale for previously sold out shows. Jump in quick... here we go.
And on a final note, there are only a handful of North American shows with tickets still available. Thanks to everyone for such an amazing response! Tickets are available for Montreal, Chicago and Portland here.
Looking forward to seeing you all on US soils very soon. Until then.
Gotye to play Coachella and #1 in Germany

Howdy folks, and happy twelves!
Thank you to everyone who came to the last 2011 Aussie shows I played with my 10-piece band. The Belvoir Amphitheatre, Hobart Botanical Gardens and festivals over New Year's were all fabulous. Maybe you remember this little tune we played around with? It's a swell number.
Yesterday the lineup for the fantastic Coachella Music & Arts Festival in California was announced. And I'm playing it! The festival is set to take place over two weekends in April. View the full lineup here
I had some amazing news over Christmas- 'Somebody That I Used To Know' was the number 1 single in Germany, and it's currently spending its second week at that spot! I can't wait to play in Berlin and Cologne again, and visit Hamburg and Munich for the first time in a few years.
Now's a good time to remind you that voting in the triple j Hottest 100 closes on Monday 16 January. 'Somebody That I Used To Know' is one of the many tracks off the Making Mirrors record eligible for this year's poll. I'm hoping maybe personal favourite 'State Of The Art' gets a guernsey too. Votes can be cast here
Finally, you might have already seen Walk Off The Earth's cover of 'Somebody That I Used To Know'. Five people, one guitar. A brilliant cover and video. It's already "gone viral" (8.5 million views in a matter of days!) so you might want to consider putting on one of those little Japanese face masks. I love those.
